The artwork report titled "Ceramic Şahmeran Figure as an Example of In-Situ Firing Performance" is a study that examines the traditional and modern figurative process of ceramic art. Along with the symbolic meaning and cultural context of the figure of Şahmeran, the effects of performance and firing performance on the quality and aesthetics of ceramic artefacts are discussed. In particular, it is emphasised that the figure of the Shahmeran has a centuries-long history in Anatolian culture, drawing attention to both the artistic and ritualistic significance of this figure. The firing process is defined as a critical stage in ceramic art and the techniques used in this process, the effects of material and environment on the figure are detailed. How the ceramic artist can optimise the firing performance is discussed together with the advantages and disadvantages of the firing process (e.g. LPG, wood fire), and the contribution of these processes to the aesthetic value of the Şahmeran figure is questioned.
