Özet
The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy-based Psychoeducation Program for Single-Parents (ACT-DPP) on psychological resilience and parenting stress of legally divorced single parents who have been divorced for more than six months and less than three years. Exploratory sequential mixed design from mixed method research was used in the study. In this context, phenomenological design was used in the qualitative phase of the study, and a quasi-experimental design model with control group in which pre-test, post-test and follow-up measurements were made in the quantitative phase. Prior to the experimental process, the qualitative data of the study were collected through semi-structured interviews with 18 single parents in order to determine the experiences, needs and opinions of single parents after divorce and to create the infrastructure of the program, and the data were analyzed by thematic analysis method. The experimental group of the study consisted of 28 single parents and 14 individuals were assigned to the experimental group and 14 individuals were assigned to the control group. While the seven-week ACT-DPP developed by the researcher was applied to the experimental group, no treatment was applied to the control group. Psychological Flexibility Scale, Parenting Stress Scale and Personal Information Form were used as data collection tools. Mann Whitney U and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Tests were used to determine the possible effect of ACT-DPP applied to the experimental group. As a result of the study, it was found that ACT-DPP was effective in significantly increasing the psychological flexibility level of the experimental group and significantly reducing parenting stress. No significant change was observed in the control group. Follow-up measurements after five weeks showed that the effectiveness of ACT-DPP continued. The findings were discussed within the framework of the related literature and recommendations were presented.
