Throughout history, people have experienced various negative emotions for different reasons. One of these negative emotions is performance anxiety in music, which is the intense excitement, fear, and anxiety that an artist or musician feels while performing on stage, beyond normal levels. It is known that today, many professional musicians and artists are on the verge of ending their careers due to the consequences of this negative emotion. This situation is even more critical for young musicians and aspiring artists. From an early age, students who must perform regularly on stage due to exam and concert obligations begin to experience intense feelings of excitement, stress, and anxiety. Consequently, many musicians and music students today face performance anxiety. Although the intensity of this condition varies from person to person, it can often be overwhelming, exhausting, and discouraging for many young aspiring musicians. With advancements in psychology and the scientific community concerning anxiety disorders, methods that can help address music performance anxiety have become increasingly prevalent. Despite being aware of this issue, institutions and educators providing music education do not give it the necessary attention and care. This study aims to explore what stage fright is, its causes, why performers experience this anxiety on stage, what they can do to avoid it, and the methods they can apply to cope with this anxiety, particularly focusing on artists who experience stage fright most intensely.
