EVLİLİK GÜÇLENDİRME PROGRAMI’NIN EVLİLİK DOYUMU VE EŞ TÜKENMİŞLİĞİNE ETKİSİ
Özet
The aim of this study was to examine the effects of the "Marriage Enrichment Program" (EGP) on marital satisfaction and spouse burnout. The study involves an experimental design with a pre-test, post-test, and follow-up test, including a control group. The follow-up measurement was conducted two months after the post-test application. Data collection tools included the "Couple Burnout Scale", the "Marital Satisfaction Scale", and a "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher. The study group was selected through introductions of EGP in family life centers, schools, special rehabilitation centers, and psychological counseling centers. A total of 41 married volunteer women or men were administered the "Couple Burnout Scale." Subsequently, 18 married women were selected, and they were divided into experimental and control groups, each consisting of 9 participants, and the implementation phase of EGP was initiated. The experimental group participated in the Marriage Enrichment Program (EGP), which involved a total of 10 sessions. Throughout the EGP implementation, session themes were presented by the EGP practitioner, supporting exercises and activities were conducted, and gains were reinforced with homework assignments. Before and after the EGP application, the Couple Burnout Scale and Marital Satisfaction Scale were applied to both experimental and control groups. In the analysis stage, nonparametric statistics were used due to the participant number being less than 30. The obtained data were examined using the IBM SPSS 25.0 package program, and a significance level of .05 was accepted for the study. To assess potential significant differences between the experimental and control groups in terms of spouse burnout scores within the framework of the EGP application, the Mann-Whitney U Test was utilized. Similarly, the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test was employed to examine the effect of the Marriage Enrichment Program on spouse burnout and marital satisfaction. All analyses indicated that the Marriage Enrichment Program reduced spouse burnout and increased marital satisfaction in the participants.
