Military stories based on conscription are a social phenomenon that has taken the form of traditional storytelling in Turkey. The fact that compulsory military service covers only male citizens and is carried out in a male-dominated environment makes it possible to see traces of masculinity in these stories told after the service. This research aims to reveal how masculinity is constructed as a narrative in these individual stories of military service. The research focuses on individuals who have completed their compulsory military service and live in Ankara. The problem of the research is how masculinity is constructed in military service stories. A review of the literature on this subject reveals studies on the theme of conscription and masculinity. However, the fact that this study is a study that deals with the subject on the basis of stories makes the study unique. Based on the research problem, a qualitative research method was preferred, the participants' stories of military service were collected through semi-structured interviews and the data obtained through narrative analysis technique was analyzed. This study is expected to contribute to the literature on conscription, masculinity and stories in Turkey.
