The aim of this study is to determine the effect of teaching designed with artistic stimuli on cognitive and affective learning outcomes in teaching speaking and writing skills at level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in teaching English as a foreign language. In the experimental group, a teaching process designed with artistic stimuli was carried out. In the control group, the lessons were planned according to the current program of the instructor and were carried out with methods and activities based on the curriculum, teacher, textbook. The data of this study, which was designed as a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design, were collected in the fall semester of 2022-2023. After collecting quantitative data in the first stage of the research; qualitative data were also collected in order to interpret, deepen, diversify and enrich the data. While "Speaking Test", "Writing Test", "Speaking Rubric", "Writing Rubric", "Attitude Scale" and "Intercultural Sensitivity Scale" were used as quantitative data collection tools; "Semi-structured Interview Form" was used for qualitative data. In the analysis of quantitative data, independent groups t-test, Mann Whitney U and Wilcoxon signed-row tests were used, while descriptive analysis and content analysis methods were used in the analysis of qualitative data. As a result of the research, it was concluded that there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental group in both cognitive and affective dimensions in terms of learning level, retention level, attitude and intercultural sensitivity averages between the experimental group and the control group. It is also among the results of the study that teaching with artistic stimuli positively affected student opinions.
