This study aimed to investigate the emotional and behavioral problems commonly
encountered by adolescents in Azerbaijan. In this study was performed adaptation
of the scale Youth Self Report 11/18 in order to examine the emotional/ behavioral
problems experienced by adolescents, also aimed to evaluate suitability for a
cross-cultural adaptation. The sample of the research constitutes 587 adolescents
aged between 11 and 18 who are educated in public schools in Baku with no any
mental health problem. The implementation was carried out in seven different
schools in Baku. Confirmatory factor analysis of the YSR11 / 18 scale on the
Azerbaijani sample was conducted and the content and structure validity of the
scale were similar to the original scale. When the metrics are jointly evaluated,
there is an acceptable agreement between the observed model, established by
means of collected data by SRMR, CFI, NFI and NNFI, and the expected model
hypothetical; There is good agreement according to

/sd, RMSEA, indices.
Internal consistency coefficient (Cronbach `s alpha) for subscales were found to
be Internalizing Problems .89, Externalizing Problems .85, Total Problems .94,
Anxious/ Depressed .79, Social Withdrawn .70, Somatic Complaints .78, Social
Problems .62, Delinquent Behaviour .68, Thought Problems .76, Attention
Problems .72 and Aggressive Behaviors .94 respectively. Within the scope of the
research, the relationship between gender and YSR 11/18 syndrome subscales
was examined. There was no significant difference in the subscales of Thought
Problems, Attention Problems and Aggressive Behaviors subscales (p> .05)
however it was observed that there was a significant difference in the subscales of
Anxious/ Depressed, Social Withdrawn, Social Problems, Somatic Complaints and
Delinquent Behavior (p < .05). Total Problems, Internalizing Problems, Anxious/
Depressed, Social Withdrawn, Somatic Complaints and Social Problems are
higher on girls than boys and Externalizing Problems, Delinquent Behavior scores
are higher on boys than girls.
