After the proclamation of the Republic, with the breakthroughs that started in the field of art and the opening of academic institutions, trainings on Turkish Music studies and its adaptation on Western Music began. At the very beginning of the breakthroughs, it was expected that the gifted children in the country would be sent abroad for education and that they would ensure the development of the art institutions and artistic activities of the Republic of Turkey in the light of the knowledge they acquired. Necil Kazım AKSES, also known as the Turkish Five, was a pioneer in the development of the Turkish cello repertoire by taking his education in both cello and composition.
Since the monophonic structure in Turkish Music does not match with Western Music and the need for harmony mechanics due to the polyphonic structure in Western Music, these two music styles are separated from each other. Since the cello plays the same melodic themes with other instruments in Turkish Music works, it does not contribute to the rhythmic structure of the works and needs the accompaniment of cultural rhythm instruments.
The general purpose of this study is to evaluate Turkish Music together with Western Music in terms of style, to examine the work named “Sultanite” composed by one of the young composers, Ege GÜR, by making use of the effectiveness of the cello in the Turkish Western Music repertoire, and as a result of these examinations, the composition of the work in the Turkish-Western synthesis. is to reveal the general character and set an example for the people who will sing.
