Özet
This artwork report, which examines Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev, one of the most important composers of the twentieth century, by focusing on the use of orchestra, form and functional harmony, aims to reveal the composer's relationship between leitmotif and orchestration, harmony and form in the work. In the first part of the study, the composer's life and the elements that have influenced his music since his early period are mentioned, and some of the original compositional techniques used by the composer within the framework of musical language are mentioned. In the second part, the understanding of leitmotive in Peter and the Wolf is analyzed and evaluated in the context of the use of orchestration, and a form analysis is made in terms of formal elements and structural functions within the scope of William E. Caplin's musical forms. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that the composer handled the concept of leitmotive with a timbral perspective as well as a thematic one, and created an original musical language by interpreting traditional techniques in the use of harmony and form in his own way.
