Abstract
Actors in society, forward to place a lot of meanings with experiences of objective and subjective and it is redefined. In the places also there are everyday lives which are sustained by individuals. Actually, everyday life is composed ball of relationships of social, economic, politic, cultural and symbolic. The places leave an certain impression on the actions and behavior of people and all these processes have particular structural and historial conditions. Besides practices of places are construction’s practices. Gendered construction’s processes of the place are closely related to male/female dichotomy and heteroseksüel/non-heterosexual dichotomy and it must evaluate together with heteronormativity. In this search, it is aimed to research comparatively that queer subjects, who have sexualities of non-heterosexual except for certain centers that can be described as metropolitan, in the places of the province through the cases of Konya and Diyarbakır, their struggles for existence, make room for themselves, briefly their everday’s experieces and narratives. The study approaches, place and everyday life relations of queer subjects with the concepts of metropolis and province. While metropolitan cities are positioned based on potentials diversity and multitude, province cities are positioned based on a narrow horizon, a relatively homogenous mentality and life style and self-definition according to center. On the other hand, metropolis becomes different from province with a better arranged political organization for queers and the idea of a venue that relatively more comfortable both living and visibility of the sexualities apart from heterosexuality. In the province has an appearence more uneasier in respects to coming out, self expression, coming together, developing common policies. In this context within scope of dissertation study, field work has been carried out by using techniques of participant observation and in-depth interview in Konya and Diyarbakır. As a result of research it has been revealed that queer subjects who are opposed to the heteronormative gender regime are political subjects with their outlaw sexualities as well as with their practice of particular strategies and tactics for their struggles for existence and their emancipations in the everyday life.
