Sepsis remains to be the leading cause of death worldwide. Despite intensive research to improve treatment and survival, few new effective treatments have been identified. Colchicine, a herbal alkaloid, is used to treat gout attacks and many inflammatory conditions. There is little information in the literature about the effects of dose-dependent effects of colchicine on LPS induced sepsis rat model. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the short-term effects of colchicine at different doses in the experimental sepsis model induced by LPS in rats. The possible effects of colchicine treatment at 3 different doses (0.5, 1 mg/kg and 5 mg/kg) on decreased mesenteric blood flow and organ damage in the rat experimental septic shock model by using in vitro and in vivo experimental setups. The levels of proinflammatory cytokines IL- 1β, IL-6, IL- 8, IL-10, IL-17 and TNF-α were measured in heart, liver, spleen tissues and serum. As a result of the experiments, it was observed that biochemical and immunological inflammatory marker levels increased with LPS, and colchicine showed a protective effect with antiinflammatory activity at a dose of 1 mg/kg. High doses of colchicine have been observed to increase inflammation and organ damage. It is thought that colchicine has a reducing effect
