The musical culture of the Aydın region is an important cultural value for Anatolian culture with its thousands of years of history and the influence of very old Turkmen settlements. The place of zeybek music, which represents the dance culture in particular, has a privileged position in the music culture of Aydın. So much so that local musicians are of great importance in order to understand the basic features of Aydın music and dance repertoire, which is encountering great changes with the influence of popular culture, and to transfer it with social memory. In this context, Emin Tenekeci plays an important role in this repertoire transmission, both as a master performer and as a resource person. Therefore, studies with Emin Tenekeci are necessary and important in order to understand the roots of the music culture of the Aydın region.
The aim of this study is to provide an overview of the music culture of the Aydın region, as well as to make inferences about the musical identity of the region. In this context, in order to obtain information about the musical identity of the region, the works in the repertoire were examined and the importance of Emin Tenekeci, who provided services to the region in the field of folk music and folk dances, as a master performer and resource person was mentioned. Emin Tenekeci's works that he brought to the local repertoire were examined, audio and visual sources were scanned and information about Emin Tenekeci's style was given through the findings. Written sources and interviews were used in this study.
