Açık Kaynaklı Coğrafi Bilgi Teknolojileri ile Drone Hava Trafiğinin Planlanması ve Simülasyon Modelinin Geliştirilmesi
Özet
Simulation is the imitation of a process, that is expected to take place in the real world, after being modeled in a computer environment, in a lifelike manner. It is a very important technique for being informed about an event to be taken place, observing the operation of the process and determining strategies before the event takes place.
In this study, an application that simulates the behaviour of Drones, which is expected to be used widely in package delivery in the future, has been developed. Although the simulation was developed with the intention of package delivery, it can be used for different purposes and it includes four scenarios.
In the first scenario, the coordinates of the Drones and targets ( e.g. package delivery points) are known and the targets are stationary. Similarly, in the second scenario the coordinates are known and unlike from the first one, the targets move with a constant speed and angle. The targets are also stationary in the third scenario. The difference from the first one is that, the coordinates of the targets are not known in this scenario. The coordinates are genrated randomly instead. In the fourth, and the last, scenario the targets are mobile and the coordinates are generated randomly.
Within the scope of the thesis, a case study was performed using the simulation. The study was performed within Hacettepe University Beytepe Campus, and delivery times using different numbers of drones and targets were compared. It was concluded that the delivery time is inversely proportional to the number of drones and it is directly proportional to the number of targets, as expected.
