Türkiye'yi Hedef Alan Yasadışı Göçmenler: İstanbul Örneği
Abstract
Being target of irregular migration is one of the most important problematic issues in many develeoped and developing countries. Despite all measures, irregular migration can not be avoided and, even more countries are added into the target domains. Being one of these new destinations, it is highly possible that Turkey will confront similar problems which western European countries experience today. In this study, irregular migrants that lived in Istanbul and apprehended by law enforcement units were studied with regard to their demographic features, reasons to migrate, contacts with migrant smugglers, patterns of entrance, their lives in Istanbul, consideration of returning to origin country and their goals after deportation. In this respect, a questionnaire was applied to 210 irregular migrants, then descriptive inferential analysis have been made. As a result of the study, it was found that irregular migrants couldn t reach the life standards which they desire to access in Turkey.
