Kese, B. Validity and Reliability of Tampa Kinesophobia Fatigue Scale in Multipl Sclerosis Patients, Hacettepe University Graduate School of Health Sciences Neurology Physiotherapist Program Master Thesis, Ankara 2020. The aim of the study is investigate the test-retest reliability, construct and predictive validity of the Tampa Kinesiophobia Fatigue Scale (TSK-F) in people with multiple sclerosis (PwMS). 87 individuals with MS, mean age of 36.52 ± 10.93 years, were included in the study. After questioning the sociodemographic characteristics, we used the expanded disability status scale (EDSS) for the clinical status, the 6 Minute Walking Test (6MWT) for functional capacity, the International Physical Activity Scale (UFAA) for the level of physical activity, Beck Depression for the level of depression, the Multiple Sclerosis Quality of Life Scale-54 (MSQoL-54) for quality of life, the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS) and the Fatigue Impact Scale (FIS) for level of fatigue. The test-retest reliability, TSK-F was re-evaluated 7 days later.
As a result of the evaluations, the first test score average of TSK-Y was 41.48 ± 6.27 and the test-retest score was 41.19 ± 6.77. As a result of the test-retest reliability analysis, the intraclass correlation coefficient (Intraclass Correlation Coefficient, ICC) was found to be 0.867 (p<0.05). The correlation of TSK-F between UFAA and EDSS was poor, MSQoL-54 and 6MWT was moderate, BDI, FSS and FIS was strong. (respectively rho: -0.345, rho: 0.365, rho: 0.544, rho: -0.449, rho: 0.690, rho: 0.602, rho: 0.650) (p<0.05). To determining the severity of the disease cut-off value of TSK-F was 42.500 with 60% sensitivity and 62.5% specificity. The minimum detectable change value (MDCV) was determined as 6.33.
As a result, the TSK-F scale is a highly reliable and moderate-good valid scale in evaluating kinesophobia due to fatigue in PwMS. It was determined that the TSK-F scale could be a preferable scale in evaluating kinesiophobia due to fatigue, which was not previously evaluated in MS in the clinic.
