Atriumların Tasarım İlkeleri ve Örneklerle Mekansal Analizi

Abstract

Atriums, which we encounter today not only in public buildings but also in residential structures, provide different perceptual approaches to places. Defining atrium spaces in buildings and structures can affect circulation and organization within the structure and design in different ways. In this context, depending on the intended purpose of designing, this defined spaces bring in a different meaning to the language of design.The basic design concept and principles and elements of the basic design shape the process of founding a design. The design process continues according to features of place desired to be designed and design criteria desired to be emphasized, the space is formed after the decisions of this process. In this study; aim is to evaluate the significance of basic design principles and elements while designing these spaces, the conceptual features of atriums and importance of contributing elements by examining the current description and the use of the atriums.
