Aethıonema W.T.Aiton (Brassıcaceae) Cinsinin Moleküler Filogenisi
Abstract
In this study, the Aethionema species distributed in Turkey and other countries were studied by using molecular tecniques. We investigated phylogenetic relationships according to sequences of trnL-F and rbcL-a regions in the chloroplast DNA. 40 taxa belonging to Aethionema were supplied from our field works, personal collections and some of them from the herbaria. In phylogenetic analysis, as well as Aethionema specimens, we added two different genus as outgroup taxa thought to be closely related to Aethionema. Aethionema species split into 3 groups in our analysis. On the other hand, molecular data in this study supported that 4 species in the genus not belong to this genus. Aethionema traditionally split into perennial or annual life forms, our analyses showed that annual species of Aethionema form a monophyletic group.
