Özet
This study was examined among married individuals; the variables that affect marriage satisfaction and spousal disclosure, and correlation between marriage satisfaction and spousal disclosure. This research is a descriptive and relational survey model. The participants consist of married individuals living in a big city in Turkey. The participants consisted of 289 married individuals, 167 females (57.8%) and 122 males (42.2%), who volunteered for the study and were selected by convenience sampling. In this study; Personal Information Form (PIF), Marital Life Scale (MLS) and Spouse Self-Disclosure Scale (SSDS) were used as data collection tools. The data of the study were analyzed by Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) and Pearson Correlation Coefficient. According to the study findings, variables such as salaraid work, family monthly income, spouse help with housework, origin family negative effect on married individuals significantly affect married individuals the satisfaction of marriage. Sexual behavior comfort and preference of the same spouse significantly affect both marital satisfaction and spousal disclosure of married individuals. Sex, age, education status, family members, duration of marriage, number of children, age difference between spouses did not significantly affect both marriage satisfaction and spousal disclosure in married individuals. It was found that the variables of salaraid work, family monthly income, spouse help with housework, origin family negative effect on married individuals did not significantly affect spousal disclosure in married individuals. In married individuals, a high positive correlation was found between marriage satisfaction and spousal disclosure. The findings of the study were interpreted, discussed in the light of literature and recommendations were presented.
