In Turkey, unemployment is one of the Turkish economy’s structural problems even though economic growth periods. In this context, one of the most important tools to analyze labor markets is the Beveridge curve, which is frequently used in the international literature. The Beveridge curve, also known as the search-matching model, is mainly based on the relationship between unemployment rate and vacancy rate. There are many studies on search-matching models in the world. However, in Turkey there isn’t too much study in this field. In this paper, firstly, the relationship between the unemployment rate and the vacancy rate was examined for years, and then as public-private and finally female-male. Afterwards, approximately 70 occupations between 1988 and 2013 were discussed. In this context, the presence of structural problems in the labor market and Beveridge curve with negative slope also inelastic for Turkey was verified.
