It is thought that mothers’ self- efficacy perception is related with providing more stimulated home environment and as a result it is related with supporting their children’s development. Therefore, relationship between parental self- efficacy and home environment is important. The aim of this study is to investigate variables and the relationship between parental self-efficacy of mothers with 3-6 years old children and home environment stimulation provided by them. The sample of the study is 110 mothers and their children of 3-6 years old who applied to Family Health Centers in Ankara . In order to determine the demographic information, General Information Form; to determine the self- efficacy level of mothers, Parental Self- Efficacy Scale; to determine the stimulation of the home environment provided by parents to their children, Home Environment Questionnaire is used . As a result of this research, it was found that there was a moderate positive correlation between the perception of parental self-efficacy of mothers and the stimulation of the home environment. It is found that parental self-efficacy was related with mother’s education level and working status, first child in the family, the number of children in the family and the family income level; and it was not related to the age of mother. The variables related to the home environment stimulation provided to the children are the mother’s education level and working status, the child’s preschool education, the number of children in family and the family income level. The child’s gender does not effect the parental self-efficacy of the mothers and the stimulation of the home environment provided to the child. In conclusion, the positive relationship of the perception of parental self-efficacy on the home environment is a favorable outcome for future interventions. It can be more effective way to improve parents’ self-efficacy perception where adverse effects on home environment cannot be improved.
