In the present study, It was aimed to determine the physical activity level of lower limb amputees with activity monitor. 30 transtibial, 20 transfemoral and 10 bilateral amputees were included in the study. There were no significant differences among groups by means of demographic properties, stump, amputation and prosthetic properties (p>0,018). There were no significant differences in TAMPA Kinesiophobia Scale, TAPES Amputation and Prosthesis Experience Scale, International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), New York Posture Rating Chart, muscle strength and tightness among groups (p>0,018). Daily steps, total physical activity level / a week, active physical activity level / a week, daily displacement, activity level (PAL), Timed-Up and Go test and 2 minutes walk test were found significantly different (p<0,018). Daily steps, total energy expenditure / a week, active energy expenditure / a week, daily displacement, activity level (PAL) were statistically higher in transtibial amputee group where as no statistical differences were found between transfemoral and bilateral amputee groups. Transfemoral amputee group finished the track with longest duration, and there were significant difference between all groups (p<0,018). Transtibial amputee group finished the track within 2 minutes with longest distance, and there were significant difference between transtibial and bilteral amputee groups (p<0,018). As a conclusion, the activity level of transtibial amputees was higher than the other lower extremity amputation levels where as transfemoral and bilateral amputees activity levels seemed to be similar. This study presents carries an important to be the first study which measures and compares the physical activity level with an objective method among transtibial, transfemoral and bilateral transtibial amputees in Turkey.
