The importance of human resources within organizations is of great importance. Working together within the organization in harmony is a desired but not always possible situation. In organizations, employees may exhibit undesirable behaviors for various reasons such as interpersonal disagreements, some organizational and individual characteristics. Organizational Deviance, Workplace Incivility and Workplace Ostracism are some of these undesirable behaviors. Organizational Deviance is defined as a violation of the norms of the organization while the Workplace Incivility is defined as low intensity deviation behaviors which are unclear for a certain purpose. Workplace Ostracism is systematically ignored by the colleagues of the individual. This study aims to investigate the mediating role of Workplace Ostracism in relation to Organizational Deviance and Workplace Incivility. For this purpose, 298 hospital employees in Muş State Hospital participated in the study. Interpersonel and Organizational Deviance Scale, Workplace Incivility Scale and Workplace Ostracism Scale were used for data collection. Kruskal-Wallis Test, Spearman Correlation Analysis and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis were used to analyze the data.
At the end of the study, a significant positive correlation was found between Organizational Deviance and sub-dimensions and Workplace Incivility. There was a positive correlation between Organizational Deviance and sub-dimensions and Workplace Ostracism. In the study, a moderate positive correlation was found between Workplace Incivility and Workplace Ostracism. In addition, it has been determined that Workplace Ostracism has a partial mediating role in the relationship between Organizational Deviance and Workplace Incivility According to the findings, it was found that Organizational Deviance, Workplace Incivility and Workplace Ostracism did not differ statistically according to the descriptive characteristics of the participants.
