The concept of location has always been a subject of art. This thesis ‘‘Perception of Location in Plastic Arts’’ focuses on the development and transformation of the concept of location in historical sense. The connection of location and art as a result of the effect that is left on the artist and the viewer by the concept of location is investigated.
The process of the transformation of art throughout history is attempted to be interpreted. The argument is shaped by the evaluation of artists’ contribution to art. The factors the artists were affected by were questioned in the forming of the artists’ profile. The process of an artwork being produced is dealt with by the consideration of the trials the artist experienced, along with their perspective on location.
The process of preparation and the works that are produced for the recently held ‘‘The Cave’’ exhibition is subjected to the research. The interpretation was made in consideration with the discrepancy and the integrity of the works with the location.
