The main purpose of this study is to determine whether the children have increased respect for differences and their attitudes towards school, and give school social service model proposals when they are given respect to differences and education based on human rights. In this context, in the scope of the research, students, parents, teachers and school administrators who were living together with their parents were interviewed in Samandıra Veysel Karani Primary School and Esenler Kazım Karabekir Elementary School where mixed education was given in the public schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Istanbul.
In the study, mixed research method was used and 244 people were studied and the findings were tried to be conveyed. Semi-Structured Interview Forms (prepared separately for parents, children, teachers / administrators), Attitudes towards Respect to Attitude Scale and Attitudes Towards School were applied to the participants. In addition, meetings were held with Syrian parents and teachers / administrators to raise awareness. The data were obtained by SPSS (version 23.0).
As a result of the study, it was found out that Syrian parents and students do not speak Turkish constitute an obstacle to communication and adaptation to school. and their families when children were given respect to differences and human rights-based trainings, it was concluded that children's respect for differences and attitudes towards school increased.
