Throughout the ages, art has appeared in various forms. In the historical process, depending on various factors, it has changed intellectually and formally. In this context, the concept of social movement which emerged due to the injustices experienced in society has paved the way for various changes in the field of art as in many other fields. It is common for the artist, who exists in society as an individual, to stand against the events through the arts. Along with the changing society, art has also created a new field for itself. Considering the position of art within the social movements, the art exhibits an identity that informs the process previously, plays an active role within the process, and it is the one criticizes or highlights at the end of the process. In this study, some social movements which have been universally effective is discussed, and their effects on artists and various art branches reflections are examined. Also their reflections on ceramic art are analyzed in detail. Key Words: Ceramic, Ceramic Form, Social Movement, New Social Movements
