The purpose of this study is to determine the possible sources of school truancy behaviors experienced in schools and to ensure to take measures for mitigating this problem by determining the incidence in schools. For this research, data was collected from 1045 students at 4 grade levels in 13 secondary schools determined with the "stratified sampling" method in Çankaya district of Ankara province in 2017-2018 academic year. The data was found to have normal distribution, and independent group t-test was used for double-cluster comparisons whereas one-way variance analysis was used for three or more cluster comparisons. Pearson Correlation tests were used to show the relation between the variables, and multiple regression was performed to determine the predictors of school truancy behavior. At the end of the research, the students' school truancy behavior was observed at 7. 20% at high, 13% medium and 79. 8% low level in accordance with their points average. The students' school truancy behavior significantly varies by their gender, grade level, school type, father's educational status, student's working after school, means of access to school, school success and parent's separation status. However, it was concluded that it did not significantly vary by their socio-economic level and mother's educational status. It was found that the students' school attitudes and school perception significantly vary by the variables such as their gender, grade level and school type. In addition, the school attitude and perception is a medium-level significant predictor of the school truancy.
