Music and interior design are two disciplines that interact with each other since they have existed. This mutual interaction and common elements between two disciplines have been searched under several subheading as formal, acustical, numerical or compositional from past to present. In this thesis, the relations were focused on composition and formation processes. Music and interior design have a common set of principles when evaluated in terms of composition and to read this commonality through experimental approaches is the main aim of the study. Thus, during the study, common concepts of the basic design principles and music elements such as harmony, balance, rhythm, hierarchy, contrast, emphasis, integrity and texture were searched with regard to similarities and differences in music and interior design. Later, music and the formation of interiors were examined through analysis of structures that use music as a part of the composition of architecture. In this framework, it has been observed that music and interior design both have common principles in the organizational phase as stated previously, and the design processed of selected projects and the compositions have various similarities. Therefore, the different methods of using music in interior design were tried to be revealed.
