TÜRKİYE' DE BANKALARIN ETKİNLİĞİNİN PENCERE ANALİZİ İLE BELİRLENMESİ
Özet
The finance sector that is the basis of the economy and the banking sector, which is the most important representative of finance sector in our country is continuing in our day its activities under intense competition conditions, constantly changing economic environments and limited resource pressure. Decision makers use a variety of methods in order to make critical decisions so that the banks can reach their goals and most importantly continue their assets. Data Envelopment Analysis method is one of the most preferred of these methods. DEA allows measurement of the relative efficiency of decision-making units in a large number of input and output environments.
In this study, relative activities of 30 deposit banks operating in Turkey were analyzed by using DEA and Window Analysis, which includes time variable as different from DEA method.
The study consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, the related basic concepts of banking sector used have been defined. In the second chapter DEA method, application areas of DEA, pros and cons, application phases, DEA models have been mentioned. In the third chapter Window Analysis method has been explained. In the fourth chapter analyses on application were performed and in the last chapter results related to application are included.
In the application section of this thesis, with the data obtained from the Banks Association of Turkey, efficiency of deposit banks between the years of 2009-2015 and were analyzed by using EMS (Efficiency Measurement System Version 1.3.) packaged software. As a result of this analysis, suggestions for input and output variables have been presented by determining the banks that need to be referenced for the ineffective banks to become effective.
