Abstract

In this thesis, the influences of politics and politicians' upon the history and historians and historians' influences to politics and politicians were discussed. For this thesis, firstly a short introduction about the relationship between politics and history were written. Secondly, in order to examine the relationship between politics and history, three themes were designed. Thirdly, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greece, Fascist Italy and the Soviet Union were examined as examples. Fourthly, the discourses of Turkish politicians (In this thesis, the official definition of politician is a cabinet officer or president who has written political and theoretical material) at Turkish Great National Assembly and Turkish press throughout the foundation of the Turkish Republic to recent times, were considered. Also, their influences to textbooks were noted. In this study, it would be discussed that how the discourses of Turkish presidents', prime ministers' and ministers' about the Ottoman empire were shaped, how these discourses were occurred and these discourses' influences.
