Mekân Tasarımında Fenomenolojik Yaklaşımlar Üzerine Bir Tartışma
Özet
Within the scope of the thesis, the problem of space design based on eye hegemony, which lacks physical sensation, is a problem. The answer to the question of how the approach of the phenomenon, which emphasizes the importance of the human body and senses in the perception of space, can be found in space design and how this approach can be utilized. Space design has been discussed through the approach of Steven Holl and Peter Zumthor, reflecting the phenomenological approach to their discourse and work.
In the first part of the study; The problem of giving direction to work is mentioned, general information about the subject and scope of the research is given. In the second chapter; The centocratic approach was examined and the intellectual / historical process of space design lacking bodily sensation was addressed. In this context, the connection between Cartesian philosophy and the concept of space design lacking physical sensation has been examined. In addition, modern architecture and its subsequent approaches, which are fed from the Cartesian philosophical theoretical background and influence on the contemporary space design concept, are dealt with in the context of body-space relation. In the third chapter; The intellectual infrastructure of the concept of space design that brings the physical experience to the forefront and the phenomenological approach which constitutes the source of this understanding are examined. In addition, Steven Holl and Peter Zumthor's work emphasizing an architectural sense that the bodily sensation is the forerunner in their rhetoric, and the implications for their approach through selected structures have been made. In the conclusion section, the points where the phenomenological approach can be used to emphasize the adoption of the approach that the physical experience is preliminary in the space design with the motions of the general approaches of the architects are emphasized and suggestions are presented.
