Özet
Humor, which has been approached from either human-centered or society-centered diverse aspects since the old Greek period according to the written resources, is attempted to be studied and understood through the written resources especially in the recent studies by ignoring its social context. In contrast to the humor studies approaching it through the written cultural humor products, this study approached it with a holistic perspective including language, production, consumption, oral, written, and electronic cultural environments, economics, game, and food relationships. In this regard, humor, which has a nature having meaning in games, food cultures, languages, and cultural environments of the social groups, has a specific ecology due to the fact that it is a combination of cultural productions and consumptions with a functioning structure. This study consists of one introduction and three parts. In the first part entitled “Humor”, the historical progress of the humor is presented from the fields where humor is interrelated with the west and Turkey to these days under the headings of laughing and humor. In the second part entitled “Humor Ecology”, almost all fields that is related with the current humor in Turkey and the current national and local ecological status were reported through the oral, written, and electronic cultural environments. In the last part entitled “An Essay of A New Type: Fictive Folk Stories”, an essay on a new type was presented in addition to the local dimensions of the new formats of the Turkish humor ecology, whose historical progress and current status were presented before, through village chambers and humor scholars. Therefore, the last part coded as the “Research Field” is a study of a local humor ecology, which have special codes related with the humor traditions and includes various folk groups.
In the present study, in which Turkish humor and its past, today, and future were investigated, it was found out that humor has emanated in almost every field of the sociocultural life and cultural environments. Additionally, it is also revealed that superiority in new humor-making style and group identity have importance in accordance with the century we live in, which is the century of “superiority age”.
