Biyoiktidar Bağlamında; Toplumsal Cinsiyet, Queer Teori Ve Sanata Yansımaları
Abstract
The main purpose of the study titled “In The Context of Biopower; Gender Mainstreaming, Queer Theory and Reflections to The Art” is to follow the reflections of gender, gender mainstreaming, gender identities and identity over art. While the images and positions which these terms coincide and are expressed in art area, the importance of the term ‘biopower’ takes its place in this study as an unignorable discussion of realism.
The connection between how the Power regards the image and how the image’s perceived by the Power has been examined within the range of this study. While the way Power regards the image by freeing it from being mere image and also represents the images in its consideration style, biopower finds a place for itself and infiltrates into every area of life. Biopower’s structure of observation, occupancy and infiltration into daily life is associated with the areas it is willing to infiltrate into and demonstrate. The existence of this impact has been proven specific to feminist art, post feminist art and LGBT art movements as a system in the art history. Moreover, Queer’s interaction with art which arises from the birth of the Queer Theory, “Queer art” discourses and the states of theory’s transformability/nontransformability to images in art is mentioned in the context of this study.
In this art study report, while the studies which are related to the main purpose of this study and which were produced during the period between 1960s’ art and modern art were examined considering the form, material, discourse/implication and cognitive basis, artistic implementations have been produced that provide contemporary initiatives over biopower, gender mainstreaming, gender, identity, gender identities and Queer Theory.
