Although Turkish lexicography has shown some improvement after the introduction of Latin letters in the bilingual dictionaries, this development soon lost its speed. One of the reasons for this pause can also be attributed to the lack of scientific work on the theory, method, and application in the areas of lexicography.
It is stated in academic meetings that for foreign language learning the importance of collocations are important and there is a need for such a dictionary. However, attempts in this direction were insufficient. In our country, the collocational studies are mainly corpus-based. On the other hand, in Europe, there have been different perspectives and designs on the collocation phenomenon.
In this study, studies related to the theory, method and application fields of lexicography have been discussed from different perspectives. The design of collocation using different methods have been put together to determine practical steps of how to make a dictionary of bilingual collocations through these theories and methods. A small part of the glossary is presented in the appendix of the work.
