Abstract
Family unpredictability is described as a lack of consistency regarding family behaviors and regulatory systems. Parentification is described as a kind of role reversal that arises between a parent and a child. It has been demonstrated that family unpredictability and parentification present risk factors in terms of many psychopathologies. This study aims to examine the effects of family unpredictability and parentification on various psychological disorders in the Turkish sample. Two studies were conducted in line with this purpose. The Retrospective Family Unpredictability Scale (Retro-FUS) was introduced to the Turkish literature in the first phase. In the second phase, the relationship between family unpredictability, parentification and depression, anger, and obsessive beliefs was examined.Within the scope of the first study, the Retro-FUS was adapted to Turkish language and the scale’s validity and reliability study has been conducted. The sample of the first study consisted of
