Abstract
Researchers have recently started to investigate obsessions and compulsions focusing on intimate relationships and one’s partner. It is important to gain further insight into the etiology of OCD’s various symptom presentations. Furthermore, previous studies have shown that rejecting parenting, insecure attachment patterns and contingencies of self-worth may be linked to the etiology of OCD. In the first part of this study, we assessed the validity and reliability of Turkish forms of the Relationship Obsessions and Compulsion Inventory (ROCI) and the Partner-Related Obsessive-Compulsive Symptoms Inventory (PROCSI). To that end, a sample of 292 adults, who were in an intimate relationship at the time, completed self-report measures of OCD, mental health, attachment insecurities and relationship satisfaction, in addition to ROCI and the PROCSI.
