Okul Öncesi Dönemdeki Çocuklarda Bakış Açısı Alma Becerileri, Duygu Düzenleme Ve Ahlak Gelişiminin Davranış Sorunları Ile Ilişkisi

This study aimed to investigate the mediator role of emotion regulation and moral judgments in the relationship between cognitive and affective perspective-taking skills of children and their internalizing-externalizing problems. In addition, whether children show differences in these variables according to their age, gender and socioeconomic status was examined. This study consisted of 123 children aged between 4 and 6, and their parents. Mountain,Sally-Anne, and Ice-Cream Tasks, Denham Emotion Understanding Test, moral dilemmas, Emotion Regulation Checklist, Hacettepe Psychological Adaptation Scale were used.Findings indicated that children’s cognitive and affective perspective-taking and moral judgments show differences according to age, gender and socioeconomic status. Perspective-taking skills positively predicted their awareness;negatively predicted internalizing problems. Also, emotion regulation negatively predicted internalizing and externalizing problems of children.
