Aldemir Y., Determining the Relationship Between Marital Adjustment and Sexual Life Quality of Married Nurses Hacettepe University Graduate School of Health Sciences Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing Program, Master’s Thesis, Ankara, 2024. In this descriptive study, it was aimed to examine the sexual life quality, marital adjustment and affecting variables of female nurses and to determine the relationship between the quality of sexual life and marital adjustment. The study was conducted at Ankara Bilkent City Hospital between 1 June 2022 and 1 September 2022. A total of 131 married female nurses were included in the study. The research data were collected using the Introductory Information Form, Marital Adjustment Scale, and Sexual Life Quality-Women Scale. Descriptive statistics were used in the analysis of the data, and in group comparisons, ‘ANOVA’ and Independent Sample-t test t were used for normally distributed measurement values; ‘Mann-Whitney U’ and ‘Kruskal-Wallis H’ test were used for measurement values that did not conform to normal distribution. The average age of the married female nurses participating in the study was 31.69±5.60. The mean score of nurses on the Marital Adjustment Scale is 45.51±6.73 (14.0-57.0), and the mean score of the Sexual Quality of Life Scale is 80.64±16.99. Marital Adjustment Scale scores were influenced by the duration of marriage (p=0.035), level of communication with spouse (p=0.001), and sexual life (p=0.017). A positive, very weak, and statistically significant correlation was found between the marital adjustment scale and the sexual quality of life scale (r=0.397; p<0.001). This study shows that the level of communication with the spouse, sexual life satisfaction and duration of nursing are determinants of marital harmony and sexual life quality in married female nurses. In this context, communication and stress management trainings for couples are recommended to strengthen the relationship dynamics of nurses and support work¬life balance.
