In this thesis titled Visual Narratives with Animal Images, first of all, a periodical research
on the interaction between human and animal in the historical process has been conducted.

with the ideas of thinkers who shaped the history of thought, has been examined through a
detailed literature review. The concept of human and animal was expressed by analyzing the
literary and visual works of the art historical process.

investigated how the human factor, which came to the fore with the Renaissance, changed
the perspective on the animal. Examples of the use of animal imagery in works that came to
the fore in the 19th century, a period of multifaceted expansions for artists, are evaluated in
comparison with 20th century works, together with the conditions of the period and the
manifestos of the artists.
The use of animal imagery in art is a phenomenon that continues from cave paintings to the
present day. In the works of artists, animal image is used in multifaceted expressions such
as human rights, feminism, mythological elements, protection of natural life, politics,
philosophy, animal rights, ecology. In this context, the use of animal and its image in
different contexts in contemporary artworks has been researched in detail and included in
