Farklı Sınıf Seviyesindeki Ortaokul Öğrencilerinin Ay’ın Evreleri ile İlgili Bilgi Düzeylerinin Belirlenmesi

The aim of this study is to determine the Bloom Taxonomy levels of 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade secondary school students on the subject of "Phases of the Moon", which is included in the 5th grade secondary school science curriculum. The research was carried out with the mixed research method. First data was collected with the survey design for the quantitative dimension; Semi-structured interviews were conducted for the qualitative dimension. The study group is 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students selected from a public school in Ankara, determined by simple purpose sampling. A 15-question scale consisting of open-ended and multiple-choice questions about the phases of the Moon was prepared. Expert opinions were received regarding the content validity of the scale. Cronbach's Alpha reliability test was performed to evaluate the reliability of the test and its value was found to be .89. Each question in the scale has levels according to Bloom's taxonomy and was applied to 116 students. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with three students from each grade level determined according to the scale results. Data analysis was carried out by SPSS analyze the results of the applied scale and transcribing the data collected with the recorder during semi-structured interviews. According to the results of the study; while the Bloom taxonomy levels of 5th and 6th grade students remained in the knowledge and comprehension dimensions, the Bloom taxonomy levels of 7th and 8th grade students increased to the application and analysis dimensions.
