In this study, the matter of verbal adjectives, one of the structures on which difficulties are experienced in teaching Turkish as a foreign language, was focused. The thesis consists of four chapters. In the first chapter, grammar teaching was explained in general terms. The attitude followed in language teaching approaches towards this issue were considered and the importance of grammar in teaching Turkish as a foreign language was underlined. Moreover, in this chapter, the place of grammar in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) was considered and the level at which verbal adjectives could be taught was emphasized by grounding the descriptors in this text. In the second chapter of our study, three course-books which are commonly used in the field were introduced and these books were reviewed with document analysis method to reveal the level at which verbal adjectives, are treated and how they are presented. In the third chapter of our study, after the definitions of verbal adjectives, were given, the order of teaching these suffixes was presented and the activities were developed in order to consolidate the relevant structure. Besides, the use of the suffixes of verbal adjectives, as nouns was also mentioned. The last chapter of our study focused on the configuration with the suffixes of verbal adjectives. The issue of permanent nouns was discussed in this chapter and the examples given in the course-books under this heading were evaluated in terms of appropriateness to the content. As a result, it was found out that the coursebooks analyzed involve examples which are not appropriate to the content and also it was identifed the coursebooks vary about the verbal adjectives in terms of term, suffix and level. Based on these results, suggestions have been offered to overcome the issues.
