The purpose of this study was to identify the variables that predict the quality of home environments of young children aged 0-6 years. The independent variables included mothers' socio-economic characteristics, parenting behaviors and child characteristics, and the dependent variables included the quality of home environment. The study included 329 mothers, 111 with special needs (SN) and 218 with TD children. The Home Screening Questionnaire was used to assess the quality of home, while The Demographic Information Form was used to collect data related to the mothers and children. The researcher also used The Parent Involvement Form, The Parent Behavior Checklist and The Parenting Young Children: Self-Report Parenting Measure, The Early Childhood Behavior Screen to collect data on mothers and children characteristics. According to the results, there is a significant difference between the quality of home environments of children with SN and TD, to the disadvantage of children with SN, and having a child with SN/being a child with SN is the primary variable that significantly predicted home quality in 0-3 and 3-6 age groups. In addition, the home quality was predicted by mother education and family income, and parents behaviors such as mother and father involvement, and mothers’ positive behavior management in 0-3 age group. In the 3-6 age group, mother education as well as parents behaviors such as positive behavior management of the mothers and their expectations, and children’s social behaviors significantly predicted the home quality. Finally, the caregiving practices of the mothers significantly predicted the quality of the home in the 0-3 and 3-6 age groups with the variable of having a child with SN.
