Travma Sonrası Stres Belirti Düzeyi ile Alkol/Madde Kullanım Miktarı Arasındaki İlişkide Narsisizmin ve Kontrol Odağının Düzenleyici Rolünün İncelenmesi

This study aimed to investigate moderator roles of narcissism and locus of control between the level of post trumatic stres symptoms after being exposed to a traumatic event and level of alcohol and substance use.
The research sample consists of 259 participants aged between 18 and 65, reached online and through convenient sampling. In line with the purpose of the study, after the Demographic Information Form, the Post Traumatic Stress Diagnostic Scale-5, Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test, Drug Use Disorders Identification Test, 5 Factor Narcissism Scale and Locus of Control Scale were applied to the sample.
In the analysis of the data, correlation analyzes were carried out to examine the relationship of the variables with each other, and then SPSS 22.0 PROCESS program (Hayes, 2013) model 2 was used to examine the maderator roles.
As a result of the analyzes carried out, a positive relationship was found between the level of post-traumatic stress symptoms and substance use, but no relationship was found with alcohol use. It was observed that vulnerable narcissism had a moderator role between post-traumatic stress symptom level and alcohol use, and locus of control had a moderator role between post-traumatic stress symptom level and substance use. The findings are discussed in the context of the literature.
