Abstract

It is developing together with the culture history of mankind in the world. There are contributions of different nationalities in this development. These contributions can sometimes unite on a common product. county fairs also considered as one of the joint products that provide cultural contributions of many nations. County fairs, roaming protect their long presence in human history as a commercial and cultural center, and many people also take part in cultural treasures. In this study, in order to see the place in Turkish culture and put forward the concept of the county fair the impact in the community. Considering the work done in Turkey about the county fairs that they mostly made in economy and history, but it has been noticed that such a study in the field of folklore. Just as examining the development of the county fair, an important economic and cultural history is not so necessary. This aspect of the county fair concept, content, to assess the functioning and effects in terms of folklore have been requested to make a study on this issue. In the study, established in Balıkesir and Çanakkale were selected as the sample area for county fairs. The structure of the county fair established within the borders of these two cities, features and content are evaluated by explaining the concept of fair Turkish culture; fair social, cultural and economic effects are intended to be shown.
