Children's folklore is an independent field of study within folklore, the subject of which is limited to children and their environment. Understanding the content of the concept of child is important for understanding children's folklore. Those who create and implement products in children's folklore are not limited to children. All of the phenomena that develop and take shape around the child can be included in children's folklore. Therefore, children's folklore begins the moment the expectant mother wants to conceive.
The main purpose of this study is to compile and transfer folklore products about children in Kırşehir region. In this context, the children's beliefs and practices, oral literature products shaped around children, material cultural elements shaped around children and children's games will be the subject of children's folklore products to be compiled from the province of Kırşehir in the Central Anatolian region. A total of 146 people, 106 adults and 40 children, were interviewed and the mentioned folklore products were tried to be compiled. It will focus on the cultural elements living in Kırşehir and its districts, especially in the regions that are thought to keep children's culture products alive, how children and children's culture products are affected in the changing and developing world, what kind of changes and transformations children's culture undergoes around material and spiritual elements.
In the introduction part of the study, information is given about the subject, purpose, scope and limitations of the research, approach, methods and techniques. The approaches and methods used in the compilation are explained. In the first chapter, the history, physical environment, administrative structure and economic situation of Kırşehir, which is the research area, are briefly explained. In addition, in this section, studies on children's folklore in Turkey and Kırşehir are discussed. In the second part, beliefs and practices about the child shaped around the child compiled through interviews and observations are discussed under three headings: pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy and after pregnancy. In the third part, oral literature products shaped around children are included. In the fourth chapter, the material culture elements shaped around the child were examined. In the fifth chapter, the names of children's games and the way they are played are given. In the section of the survey results, the survey applied to 40 children between the ages of 9-10 in Kırşehir is included and the results are briefly evaluated. In the source person information section, information about the name, surname, place and year of birth, profession, education level and hometown of the people interviewed was given. After the bibliography information, an additional photo section has been created for the photos that are not included in the text. Finally, there is the Photograph directory.
