Farklı Yaş Gruplarında Basketbolda İmgelemenin Serbest Atış Performansı, Özgüven ve Kaygı Üzerine Etkisi
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to conduct a research to examine the effects of imagery intervention on basketball free-throw performance, self-confidence, anxiety and imagery ability across age groups. There were 8 participants: 4 of them were playing one of the Turkish Women Basketball 2nd Division Team, and 4 of them was playing at the same club but at the youth team. A multiple baseline across-participant design was used to examine the effects of imagery intervention on free throw performance. Then the baseline intervention was applied. Intervention took five weeks. After the intervention, free throw scores recollected. Graphical visual analysis was used to analyze the free throw performance. It seems that, all participants free throw performance was improved. Imagery ability (visual and kinesthetic), sport confidence (trait and state) and sport competition anxiety questionnaire were applied to all participants. Except visual imagery ability other results were not significant.
