Yağ Asitleriyle İşlevselleştirilmiş Böhmit ve Alümina Parçacıkların Alkit Reçinelerin Çizilme Direnci Üzerine Etkisi
Abstract
Demand on scratch resistant coatings in automotive, construction, food and other similar sectors is rising. The paints used in automotive industry can be scratched with small forces. This is a factor that decreases the lifespan of the paint. To increase the lifespan and decrease the maintenance costs, paints with better scratch resistance are needed. In this work, it is aimed to determine the possible increases that can be attained in the mechanical properties of the alkyd resins by the incorporation of fatty acid functionalized in water or in a solvent medium; synthetic boehmites produced from aluminum trihydroxide or aluminum salts, transition aluminas produced from these boehmites, or commercially available alpha alumina in these resins. When nanostructured transition alumina functionalized in water medium was used in the resins, sharp increment was observed in the pencil hardness in scratch resistance with respect to the resins which were not reinforced with any particles.
