Spiral Zenginleştiricilerde Tane Boyunun Performansa Etkisinin İncelenmesi
Abstract
In this study the aim was to investigate the enrichment characteristic of locked and liberated chromite particles on a spiral concentrator which is one of the gravity concentration devices.For this purpose, a closed circuit experimental set up, that includes a 60-cm-diameter spiral concentrator, a stirred sump and a pump, was established.Chromite ore and quartz-chromite artificial mixture were used as test samples. Chromite ore sample which was taken from the mill discharge of a chromite processing plant was used as spiral concentrator feed after desliming process. The artificial mixture, prepared by mixing 80% of deslimed quartz sand and 20% of chromite concentrate by mass, was also used as spiral concentrator feed.The concentration tests were carried out in different flow rates and in different positions of the splitters. In steady state conditions the samples were taken simultaneously from the product discharge of the spiral and the flow rates were measured.
