Abstract

In this study, use of virtual reality (VR) systems, which have been getting popular in many areas in the world, in mining industry is examined and their utilization in Turkish mining industry is evaluated. Although the virtual reality systems are commonly used in the world, these systems have almost never been utilized in the Turkish mining industry except a few cases. The main aim of this study is to create awareness in Turkey about this phenomenon.Studies about the usage of VR systems in the world mining industry, their results and mainly the advantages of VR systems are covered in this study. The adaptation case of examined studies to Turkish mining industry is one of the main parts of the study.
