Özet
In this thesis, a continuous chromatography system is used for the separation of glucose and fructose from binary solution of glucose and fructose. Thereby enrichment of glucose is achieved. For this purpose Simulated Moving Bed Chromatography (SMB) is employed. Dowex Monosphere 99 CA/320 is used as column packing material, which is a cationic ion-exchange resin.During experimental studies batch and continuous system assays were performed so as to obtain mass transfer and equilibrium parameters. These studies carried out using single component feed solutions. It was observed that within the range of experimental studies, the optimal glucose and fructose adsorption equilibrium isotherms were linear isotherm models and model constants were calculated by well-known methods explained in the literature.The liquid film mass transfer coefficients (kf) of glucose and fructose were calculated and it was observed that results were in compliance with the literature.
