Kitosan Partikül ile Atık Sulardan Sülfat Giderilmesi
Abstract
Sulfate ions are frequently come across in industrial wastewaters. In recent years many studies have been performed for the removal of these kinds of contaminants. One of the most used techiniques is adsorption. In this thesis study, the adsorption of sulfate ions to the chitosan particles formed by cross-linked chitosan has been investigated. In the study, initially it was researched whether the chitosan particle will adsorp the sulfate ion or not and consequently high adsorption capacity was obtained. Optimum pH value for maximum adsorption of sulfate was found to be 4.5. When the effect of temperature on sulfate adsorption was observed, the optimum temperature was been reached at 25 ˚C. It was observed that the adsorption capacity of chitosan particle adsorbent increases to 600mg g with increment of initial sulfate concentration to the 10000mg L. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were applied to describe the equilibrium data mathematically, isotherm constants were determined by non-linear regression and it was seen that Langmuir isotherm
is the best-fitting model for the adsorption equilibrium.
